What factors influence blood glucose levels?

Factors rise your blood glucose levels

  • Eating too much food
  • Not being active
  • Side effects of steroids or anti-psychotic medications
  • Illness
  • Stress
  • Pain
  • Menstrual periods
  • Dehydration

Factors lower your blood glucose levels

  • Eating too little food
  • Too much alcohol or alcohol on an empty stomach
  • Too much insulin or too many diabetes pills
  • Skipping or delayed meals
  • Too much exercise without enough food
